Are people building new homes? Right now, they're aren't a lot of homes being built in the area I'm interested in. That may be a good indicator that I should build a house. For example, just like the internet advertising and when you're sending out marketing material, you need to know who you're targeting in order to achieve your best results. I helped a local coffee chain launch in Los Angeles, they wanted to be edgy and cool and I went ahead and got out and about in town. We decided to open them as close as possible to American Apparel stores (hipster stores) as well as shoe stores. It's been a great decision, a little more expensive, but the foot traffic is beautiful and we attracted the type of customer he was looking to buy from his store.
