They might be great. But mye experience today is that from the point of view of someone paying for all this, companies that relocate people do not do a good job marketing their house. The houses that are in my neighborhood that are corporate relocations are sitting on the market without any aggressive marketing on the part of the sellers because the homeowners are gone and nobody seems to care. They depress prices further even than the existing mortgage short sales and foreclosures that are on the market.

Reliance sub contracted our belongings to Classic Moving and Storage, who then sub contracted it to Eden Relocation, all without informing us. They sent one person to move furniture that 2 or more people should be moving. Many of our belongings were broken upon arrival. They did not show up on our reserved day. They delivered our belongings 10 days later than they said they would. The 2 moving companies that they sub-contracted to were not aware of our agreement and tried to add extra charges. We currently have an active complaint with the BBB.

Moving can be stressful, and the right mover can play a big part of making it an easier process. I would search online or ask peers for advice. As far as selling a house due to a relocation, many times your company will help with this. Otherwise, find a trusted agent that will have an incentive to sell the house even in your absence.
