Those are some very good tips. Renegotiating your loan is a good idea but many of my clients have a had a tough time working with banks. Especially if they anything but perfect credit.
Getting on the ball and nipping it in the bud before big problems occur is certainly a great tip. Many home owners wait until they are in big trouble. Taking an aggressive approach to fixing your mortgage problem often gives the owner more options and better results.
Sort of a catch 22 situation at the moment though isn’t it! If you can’t pay your existing mortgage then a remortgage application may go the same way as your existing mortgage.
There are many government plans in different countries for people that are falling behind on their mortgages due to unemployment and raising rates – some of which that still haven’t come into force or that are not passing through many applications which is of no use to people in need of securing their homes against repossession.
Lets hope that things soon improve and that government plans DO help those at risk of losing their homes.
